With the Finkenberger Almbahnen to the hiking paradise

Due to its very special charm, the area Finkenberg-Penken offers a sensational range of sports for active hikers and bikers. Clear mountain air and the scent of the alpine flowers make you forget your everyday life and regain strength and energy. The panorama gondola takes you to the Finkenberg mountain world and the sky a little closer!

Penkenjoch Rundwander Weg

You start the day with a ride up the mountain to the middle station of the Finkenberger Almbahnen. There you take the BergWaldWeg towards Kombibahn Penken. After taking the cablecar up to the top station at 1994 m you can take the PanoramaRundWeg Penken to the Penkenjoch at 2.095 m. There you also pass the reservoir pond and the capella granata before you can take the Finkenberger Almbahnen back to the valley station.

Meadow trail Penkenjoch

Explore Action Mount Penken along trail no. 22a. Passing flowering mountain meadows, you reach the cable car middle station in less than an hour along trail no. 22. From there, you cab take the gondola back to the valley, or continue your hike along the Moorland Nature Trail

Moor Nature Trail

The Moor educational trail of the Nature World in the Tux Valley starts at the middle station of the Finkenberger Almbahnen lifts. Trail no. 22 b provides information and facts about the surrounding nature and its secrets. You reach Vorderlanersbach/Tux by following trail no. 57 towards the valley and then trail no. 55. Another option is the short climb on trail no. 57 to the Penkenjoch. Hikers can tackle the descent from the Penkenjoch on foot (see Penkenjoch – Rastkogel) or by taking the gondolas into the valley. You can conveniently return to the bottom station in Finkenberg by taking bus no. 4104 from Vorderlanersbach/Tux.

Idyllic circular hike

This pleasant circular walk is particularly suitable for families with prams. Beginning at the top station, the path leads along the reservoir pond past the Capella Granata, a place of quiet reflection. Cool refreshment or a visit of the chapel, that was built by star architect Mario Botta, can be wonderfully combined with circular hike!

Adventure circuit

Action mountain Penken

The unique circular hiking trail starts at Penkenjoch in an easterly direction, past the starting point for daring climbers and paraglider pilots. After arriving at the top station of the Kombibahn Penken, trail no. 23 leads to Penkenbahn. At around the halfway point, change to trail no. 22a which leads back to the starting point at Penkenjoch. Alternately, continue along trail no 22c to the middle station and take the gondola back to Finkenberg.

Middle station Finkenberger Almbahnen - Finkenberg/Stein

This extensive walking tour starts at the Middle Station of the lifts (1,780 m). Follow signs for the Naudisweg, which is located between the Moorlehrpfad – Moor Trail and trail nr. 28. Trail nr. 28 takes you to the Persal bus stop. Those wanting to extend their walking tour a little should follow the Naudisweg to Stein, from where trail nr. 25 leads back to the village.

Penkenjoch – Rastkogel

Panorama Tour

This panoramic tour starts at Penkenjoch on the wide trail no. 57 to Wanglalm and Wanglspitze, followed by the gentle uphill trail to Horbergjoch. After walking over the large stone slabs on path no. 51, you reach the beautiful vantage point of Rastkogel from where you have panoramic views as far as the Zugspitze
