Spannagelhöhle
Meeting point is at 12.50 am at the Spannagelhöhle office, which you can find inside the Spannagelhaus. After getting changed and receiving initial instructions, the first glacier highlight begins in the company of a trained cave guide: the approx. one-hour-long tour through the Spannagel Cave, the only marble cave to be found in the Central Alps. After only a few steps, you will find yourself in the cave, directly beneath the ski slope.

The table is already laid for you at Spannagelhaus, where tour participants can look forward to the legendary, fiery Spannagel Fondue and palates are pampered in this extraordinary cave setting with unique panorama. As dessert – in fitting style - a marble cake made to grandma's recipe is served, of course, in reference to the omnipresent marble cave.

600 hp
Then at around 16.00 hrs, a 600 hp Pistenbully snow groomer pulls up outside Spannagelhaus to take participants on a snowcat ride to the Tuxer Fernerhaus, as a crowning finale to this Glacier Tour.

Information about the fiery cave tour at a glance
- Dates: for winter 2024/25 will be communicated in time on this website
- Meeting point: 12.50 hrs at the Spannagelhöhle Office at Spannagelhaus (approx. 10 minutes’ walk from the top station of the Gletscherbus 2 lift)
- The "Fiery Cave" Tour includes: tour through the Spannagel Cave with a trained cave guide, followed by a fiery meat fondue in the Spannagelhaus and return journey to Tuxer Fernerhaus at around 4 p.m. with the “Pistenbully” snowcat.
- The following applies to Spannagel Cave visitors:
*Minimum age of 6 years and minimum height of 1.20 m are prerequisites
* IMPORTANT: NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE WITH CLAUSTROPHOBIA!
* Skiers can rent boots for the cave tour on site.
* Suitable attire is needed: warm, comfortable clothing, sturdy, ankle-high shoes/boots. - The meat fondue at Spannagelhaus includes: hearty meat broth, various meats, fries, garlic bread, various sauces and dips. (In case the Spannagelhaus is closed, the fondue will take place at the Wirtshaus)
- Prices: Adults: Euro 65,00 I Children (6-14 years): Euro 40.00
The price does not include lift pass, or drinks at Spannagelhaus. - Minimum number of participants per tour: 4 persons
